Update files are in the form a linux-compiled compressed tarball:
update.tar.bz2
This contains all the updated files (including all the files from earlier updates, so that you can jump onto the update ladder at any time, even if you missed one or more). The files are all properly foldered, and even have their correct chmod attributes already set.
Your dbox2, if connected to the web, downloads this file to the /tmp folder, from which point the whole updating process is automated for you. The download process is carried out by scripts already existing in the image, direct from our site to your dbox.
Your dbox does not have any form of 'talkback', so is invisible on the system.
So, if you're wearing your 'paranoia' hat, I think more suspicions would be raised by the fact that you've downloaded a dbox2 image to your PC in the first place, LMAO!
Remember that the content of the original images hosted on here, AND any updates, are all legal- they do NOT contain anything that allows more than FTA viewing.
Hurry up and make a few more constructive posts- as you should really be on Commando 12 !!
Cheers- AL
