Still looking to get a mobile broadband dongle. I been looking at vodafone, they appear to do a payg deal that doesn't time expire after a month like 02?
I need, mobile broadband on a laptop, summer useage, good country coverage as I could be anywhere, don't want it to be limited to a topup that only lasts 30 days as I may not use it for a month or so.... Looks like Vodafone is the answer but I am cueless so appreciate advise. I don't have a personal mobile phone (have a company one) so mobile phone/internet dual deals etc are no use for me, just want a usb dongle for a lappy on a payg type deal. Any better ideas or deals guys? SS

I use virgin only because its cheap if you have broadband with them (£5 for 3Gb limit) However as a word of caution they charge a fortune if you go over the limit.

Costs £15 for payg 1gb topups but credit doesnt time expire (they also do a monthly one, cheaper but you can't carry unused credit over). Was easy to setup had it running in no time, included software gives a dashboard showing various info including credit left, signal etc etc. A few mins of use and testing on msn and googling used up 1p of credit, seemed pretty fast too. Apparentlly if all credit is used you can still access vodafone and top it up again. Going away next week for a few days so will give it a thrashing and see.... SS

Ok, after a couple of days usage out near Scarborough.....
Can't get a 3g connection at all where I am, but normal gprs appears to work well. It is a bit slow but for general forum use, msn, Yahoo messenger and a bit of browsing and emails it works well. Two days of lenghty use (but not heavy bandwidth) has so far used 58p of credit. Glad I went for this payg package and not monthly one as I would never use up the monthly quota. Anyway, the vodafone payg dongle deal is deffo worth it for me. SS
