Thanks, pt-1! This EU 'Energy Saving Law'... Would it be the same Law that my new Toshiba DVD-VCR-HDD Combo Unit abides by, by any chance?
Where Standby Mode effectively puts the unit into a complete Power-OFF state. Meaning that the scart IN from my DM500S and scart OUT to my TV become kaput. So instead of putting this unit on low-power consumption Standby Mode for 10 hours each day, I have to leave it full power ON for 24/7 - so wifey doesn't come down to a black screen every morning... Another classic example of OTT half-assed meddling by the EU, producing the opposite result of the nice green master plan they dreamt up, FFS!! Cheers- AL
