Default Cables.xml for Enigma, next best thing to SML

Here is a cables.xml containing details from PaphosAL's hard work on updating area details for normal Neutrino SML.

This file should be good for Enigma, contains details for all known areas and has a "brute force" scan too!

Tested and works beautifully here in sunny Pure! Found all those 'new' channels for me too!

And once you know where you live, LOL!- you can edit this file down to your location only (about 300 bytes total), and it will fastScan in around 2 to 3 minutes...

Good work, SS, m8! Your next mission impossible, should you choose to accept it, is LCD-EPG for Enigma. This message will self-destruct in 5 secs.

Cheers- AL

No m8, just delete all the top half (brute force data) and everything else except for your location. So as an example, if you lived in Acton, all you would need in that file would be the below.

Code:
<?xml version="1.0" encoding="iso-8859-1"?>
<cables>
	<cable name="Acton - London" flags="1">
	<transponder frequency="666750000" inversion="2" symbol_rate="6952000" fec_inner="3" modulation="3"/>
	</cable>
</cables>
Auto scan would then only list Acton and nothing else!

And whether you're working with the original file, or SS's new one- same applies: you have to reboot for the revised file to register. Enigma seems to read cables.xml at boot, holding all the data in memory.

Similar should work in neutrino, so long as <cable name= is mirrored in /var/tuxbox/config/scan.conf

Let's test it, shall we? Hehe! AL

i'll have a go! when you edit the cables.xml, you have to unplug it don't you? otherwise it get over written if you just do a reboot. is that the same with scan.conf?

i'll have a blast - not sure when though! Best man's speech to write for saturday - thats my priority at the moment

Don't think this works, as neutrino and enigma are totally different beasts when it comes to Scan...

However- Lincsat asked me to test his rather interesting cables.xml a month or so ago. Under 300 bytes and does the whole UK (pure, tw and exC&W), IF a couple of settings are changed in the Scan menu.

It worked fantastic for me. But I can't piss on Lincsat's fire - it's up to him whether or not he wants to go public with it...

Cheers- AL
