O.K. these Lines should help you with the growing number of Plugins for the Dbox.

Where do PlugIns have to be copied to ?


/var/plugins/ or /lib/tuxbox/plugins/ and they need 755 as rights via FTP Software or Telnet (chmod)

• VNC Plugin
  This Plugin enables you to connect from the Dbox to a PC that has VNC or RealVNC running. You can see the PC's Screen on your TV and you can use the remote as a Mouse.
  Box needs to be connected to a PC or a network.

• TuxDNS
  This plugin can update the free DYNDns Service. Normally on your Internet account you get a dynamic IP address. With this service you can assign a "fixed" Webaddress to that dynamic IP at you Internet account at home. The plugin updates this information in a regular basis.

• Tuxnews
  This plugin can access can connect to a Internet RSS Newsfeed and display that Information in a scrollbar at the bottom of the TV Picture.

• Tuxweather
  This Plugin can be modified for UK usage and you can get Weather-forcast,Satelitte Pictures and even Webcams on your TV screen.

• Tuxmail
  This plugin notifys you an the TV screen and the LCD Display when you have new Email. You can have multiple accounts. Here is a little tut and here is the latest version that even enables you to read the emails on the TV screen and delete them directely on the server.

• ICQPlugin
  This plugin enables you to check via the Dbox if any of your contacts is only.
  Internet access from the Box is needed.

• Parent/Userselect
  This Plugin enables you to have different profiles for adult or whoever is using the dbox. You can hide adult contents or just enable kids programs.

• LCD Display
  Latest Plugin to control the LCD Display of the Box via the Http Interface.
  Box needs to be connected to a PC or a network.
  .
• Message2Box
  This Plugin enables you to send a message from on Dbox to another Dbox.DynDNS or the IP of the other box should be known.You can send a message to up to 10 different Dboxes.
  Box needs to be connected to a PC or a network.

• Games
  This is a collection of different Games. Within the cfg file the name of the plugin can be changed. Example 4 gewinnt into connect 4.

• Chess
  This little Plugin enables you to play chess on the Dbox. Please read on the page that the link connects you to on how to install it.

• Outdoor/LCD TV
  This Plugin enables you to watch the actual TV Program on the LCD Display.
  .
• TuxBoxCommander
  It's a plugin that is a "explorer" from the old Norton Commander times. You can access files on your dbox without the need of a pc and you can change settings etc.

• Teletext
  This Plugin enables you on stations that transmit a Teletext to browse the pages just like you would have done on your TV.
