Default commando 10d LCD epg

hi all, has anybody else noticed the lcd epg doesnt update if left on the same channel. I mean you could be watching jeremy kyle in the morning then go out come back to watch coronation street and jeremy kyle still on the lcd! If you change channels it updates.
Anyways im gonna flash the new image enigtrino later and have a good fiddle with it. thanks Mike

To fill up the EPG, you need to be on the PVR_EPG channel in standby. When you put the machine into standby, it should automatically switch to that channel for you thanks to the commando boys. Go into standby and leave it for 5 mins. When you turn on again, keep your eye on the LCD display. You'll see it move from that channel back to the one you were switched on and you'll have a lot more EPG available. I think that's the theory anyway!

Nah I don't think that's what he means, as I have the same issue.

Say you're watching CSI on Five, and after it finishes, House is on. The LCD-EPG will still say CSI, with the %age bar at 100%

Change channel, or press the info button, and then LCD will update to House with a correct %age.

FreddyFrog can probably throw more light on this than me, but as far as I know, sectionsd wakes up every 180 seconds, does it EPG house-keeping, then nods off again for another 3 minutes.

Maybe this needs looking at by Freddy and his gang, with a view to changing it to 60 seconds intervals? But I'm not sure whether this would adversely impact on overall system performance, menu and zapit speed, etc.

Ze Germans must have had a good reason to opt for 180 secs...

Cheers- AL

ive been thinking that something has not been right with sectionsd for the past few months also. but i dont know if its always been this way and ive just never noticed it before. ive been finding that even running with an unmodified sectionsd v1.278 most of the channels epg updates except the channel that is being shown. as soon as a channel change is made, only then is that channels epg updated too.

example of how without going on epg_pvr channel every channel fully updates except the channel that is being viewed

Maybe Cydine can comment, please? He knows sectionsd inside out, including it's variable labels that read like a Welsh railway station's name, only twice as long!

Cheers- AL

Talking
For what it's worth, this issue only seems to exist when 7 day EPG is used, I switched back to standard over the weekend, and it's behaving as it should be

I hope you two have been reading the C10d Feedback thread, and have both applied the update patch- to fix the issue with the cam committing suicide, when in Std EPG Mode?

See here:

At last the final Commando 10d
