Commando 10d
the Final Frontier... (at last!)

What's new?
  • 31st January 2009 CVS build
  • new Kernel 2.4.73
  • more files super-compressed (1.4mb free, with usual add-ins)
  • added SMBFS (Samba) support for NAS drives and the like
  • New Automount Menu
  • bang uptodate Channel Icons
  • more Default Settings changed by popular demand
  • friendlier Menu descriptors for that 'personal' touch
  • New Hall of Fame credits under Blue button menus
  • yWeb now personalized with UkCvs.org logo
  • Set My Area for 7 Day EPG - now works 'on the fly'
  • Subtle, but drastic improvements to Zapit Config menu
Lets's have a closer look at that last one...

Notice the addition of the Red button to Save settings

Also notice a new item at the bottom-

Show Unsorted Bouquet? Yes / No

- a lot of brains went into bringing this innocuous looking item into menu form, Cydine, Speedy, LraiZer etc. It works instantly- 'on the fly', and should prove to be a valuable feature for lots of Commando users, if you think about it...

The boring bumpth:

As usual, it's FTA- so no softcams, roms, nor keys are in this image; you know the rules, and should know the routine by now!

User is root and password is commando for Telnet and FTP access, as always.

No credits here in the Release Notes- they're all in the Image now!

Enjoy!

I'm sure if you persist with the default Infobar settings, you'll get to see the rationalé behind it, guys.

If AD exists on a channel you switch to, one press of the Left or Right Arrow button kills it, confirmed by the little box top right of screen- toggling 0 / 1 English.

To bring up the Infobar, use ? help button, then you can Virtual Zap with the L/R arrow keys, without affecting the AD setting! Which is the whole point of doing it this way.

If you really MUST have the Infobar pop up with L/R arrow key, then it would make sense to switch dBox Settings > Sound Settings > Kill voiceover with L/R to Off

Then use three button presses (Green / Down / OK) to kill AD. I know which I prefer (and my missus!), and that's why I nagged Renny to death to try this a different way...

Cheers- AL

Some nice addidtions in this - even though i suspect my dbox is older than Al and doesn't behave very well with Commando images i'll chuck it on 1 night this week and give it a good test

Excellent work from everyone involved

up and running a treat! slight sluggishness on the blue menu button (as i've said before, commando images for some reason are always a bit slow) but otherwise spot on.

Going to leave it for our lass and the kids to throughly road test tomorrow when i'm at work

Once again top work!

Speedy - it's worth a shot - i know u said u had similar problems with Commando images - i've cut the EPG right down so there's as much free space as poss

Guys.

Even though I have copied the required bits over from 10c I can still only get FTA. I have checked and double checked everything and cannot find any reason why this is so. I'm not a complete novice and have been playing with all kinds of images for yonks and have never had this issue in the past.
I suspect I am missing something really obvious but for the life of me can't see what it is.

Scan is fine
Chmod is fine
emu and keys in correct location
bowks and services added fine

Just FTA only

Any ideas appreciated
