Virgin+ 3.0 lzma ultraLite

This Image has been in the melting pot since early Autumn last year, but has never seen the light of day- until now.

It is based on the very latest Commando 12 Image, so has a similar 'look and feel' - except that the gal is back for the boot logo!

What's different?

If you're into CIFS, NFS, SMBFS, XFS HDD, AudioPlayer, MoviePlayer, PictureViewer, etc- walk away NOW, coz this Image is NOT for you. Thanks to some new disable features in the CVS (introduced by our good friend rhabarber), Renny has compiled this image to exclude the coded support for all those excess baggage features.

The result is the skinniest TV-Only image ever!! The lzma-compressed neutrino binary is a mere 299kb in size, compared to 1.5MB typically! Our testbox shows a massive record-breaking 4.24MB Free Space (with minimal added files)!!

Manual and Online Add-On Goodies and Image Updates are supported, and the manual easy-install Add-Ons pack is included with the image rar file. Users whose dboxes are connected to the web can just press buttons in the Blue menus.

As this image is fully lzma-upx compressed, Image Converter will NOT work, hence the release in both 1x and 2x formats. Telnet and FTP allow normal access to ALL areas of the image, though, (unlike SquashFS formatted images).

Also note that TuxFlashTools cannot be used to access this type of image on your PC. So please take note of the useful facility that creates a tarball foldered backup of the entire /var partition, for transfer to your pc. That file is accessible with WinRar for extracting files and folders.

Late breaking News: At the last minute, we included standalone Streaming support, totally untested. Binki737 kindly tried this out, but without success. It would appear that Streaming is reliant upon MoviePlayer being present- which it is not in this image, and nor can it be added in. Best ignore Streaming, then!
