Killed my box with incomplete image!

Hi all, I've just dropped an absolute whopper and hoped someone could please help me resurrect my nokia dbox2!

I just tried to install the new Linsat image. I did it in the usual way but after completion realized that when I had copied it into my /tmp file in the first place it had failed 1KB short of a full image.

Now my box is installed with a non-complete image!

Does any one know the IP address of this image and will I even be able to connect back to it to give it a new image seeing as I have no control of the remote?

Any advice much appreciated before my house mates kill me for f'in around with it!

Not tried that image yet m8, so dont know ip, but if its not complete on box it may not let you ftp to it anyway, are you getting anything on the lcd of the box.
If its not loaded fully the only way is to re-flash useing IFA (image flashing assistant)

I have only used ftp from when I first tried a new image and had assumed the ifa that I had seen mentioned was just the same thing. I had tried searching on the forum's for a fault like mine (couldn't find a post) but once you mentioned the ifa I looked for that instead. I found the software and have just put the image on fine.

great stuff, glad i read this thread, started messing around with my dbox2 lately trying new images & stuff, now i know what to do if i accidently do what baz did! cheers derek!

hi
i accidently deleated my image, when i download a new one what size should it be, i dont whant to have the same problem.
ps can anyone tell me which file i load the image to on the dbox?

please can you start your own thread

@ baz you gonna need a null modem and ifa to sort your box out
have a search for pt-1 helpfile the dbox bible

and i think the file size is something like 7.78mb , but please start a new thread if you are in need!
