Thanks for that Al

I should have mentioned that the neutrino I posted was only to be used with the laky-sylas image & not compatible with any other

killall -9 neutrino

2) Quit Telnet and go into FTP

3) Overwrite existing neutrino with your new one. (It will remain at chmod 755)

4) Power-off at the socket, then power-on. Voilá!

Don't ask me why, but I find in step 3) that if I delete neutrino, then try to txfr the new one across to /bin - it gets part way through, then stops, asking "neutrino @ 986kb already exists! Do you want to overwrite it with this one @ 1,325kb?"

It's like the image has gone 'full-up' and 'read-only'. Infuriating, when your image only has 2.8MB Free Space, ffs!

Finally- you can't just swap neutrino files from one brand of image to another. Not unless you're a masochist, and need more practise with IFA!

Worked a treat - as always Al, excellent work! tis all working beautifully. i can sleep at night!

You guys who are overwriting a running process in dbox memory (ie: neutrino)- without killing it first via telnet, how are going about this, pls? FTP?

Coz I can't do this with FlashFXP- it won't let me. OK- I'm probably on the default passive txfr, rather than active - like you're probably doing it with. But where the fook is this setting? Boogered if I can find it anywhere...

Cheers- AL

ermm not sure !

was able to update neutrino.conf just by overwriting but had to kill zapit.conf when i edited that one so could get unsorted channel list. Using FlashFXP in standard settings ( ie i never configured anything !)

maybe just catch the file at the right time ??

ps. when i updated neutrino.conf i used the onboard editor within FlashFXP, the zapit.conf i had edited using metapad...could that have anything to do with it. ?

Take it from me, Freddy, the built-in Edit in FlashFXP is almost 100% guranteed to corrupt your edited files, just like notepad and wordpad, m8.

And I was referring to overwriting neutrino itself, not it's conf file, LOL!
