Have got a problem with a dbox, thought my image had went read only, but seemingly not, i ftp`d commando back up to the box, but it said no services found, now this is a working image with bouquets & services in it, so i know the image is good, so, i did a fast scan, and it found no transponders, and no channels, so i did a slow scan, and it found 376 transponders, but only picked up 35 channels, the 35 channels gave me tv, so they did show channels, now i got this box about a week ago, and was told there was something wrong with the box, but when i first ftp`d an image,[ commando 10 ] it worked, so i thought nothing of it, but now it seen my image as read only as i tried to put my new epgfilter.xml file back up after is was checked and freddyfrog, but the file would not go in,Now when i put commando back up to the box, it would not go in with FTP, so i used IFA, now im thinking is this a chip issuse as it can read transponders & it can give me services, all be it, only 35, but i have now put my back up bouquets & services file back in, and all is now working as if there is nothing wrong at all, but i believe if i go and try to edit a file, im thinking it will not work and see the image as read only again, Cheers,,,

flashing via the menu's isnt always the best way to flash.
because your image was read only to begin with this could of easly caused a bad flash.

using IFA would of made sure it was a clean flash thats why c10 is working

read only is part and parcel of messing with the dbox i wouldnt be to worried about it.

As you well know wull, the dbox2 can be a fairly fussy piece of kit. The scanning issue has been a cnut in recent times for the developers......I'm sure they will get it bottomed out soon.

The fact you have your box working albeit with good working services and bouquets should in itself keep you happy in the meantime.

Always remember that your box needs an image and settings that it likes to keep it in good working order all the while keeping you happy at the same time.

Firstly I would try flashing a different image, preferably one that you have used before that you know at least receives TV channels OK. Whether it be an older version of Commando or a completely different image shouldnt matter, but seriously dont flash it using FTP, use IFA to make sure that the whole image is transferred properly.

Once the (old) image is flashed try a scan (or put your services.xml file (not bouquets.xml or epgfilter.xml)) and then see if it will give you any channels. A known working services.xml file will be your best bet.

If you're still having problems try changing uCode [[try them all!]]. Failing that you might have a dead tuner, a dead SEC chip, or faulty flash chips. Either way a full boot log (recorded over RS232 via null modem cable) will alert you to any hardware errors.

Rodboy, now where did you get the notion that i pay income tax [ your gonna get me a bad name m8 ... lol ] anyway, i`m now thinking my back-up image is corrupt, so i have put a clean inage [ commando 10 ] back into the box, and will see how it pans out, Cheers, and thanks all !!
