Default Dbox problem

My friend thought he could flash an image(but he couldn't). And now on his box there is a picture of the commando thing. what can i do for him

If it hangs on the Boot Logo every time you switch the power off and back on again, then it's a corrupt flash, I'd say. Reflash with IFA is the only way out in this situation, usually...

Default Just fixed the same problem
Just fixed the same problem for a m8. Tried IFA with xover cable - no go
tried hyperterminal method (null modem cable only), still no go.

In the end i got a null modem to USB adapter to use my xp laptop and when used with xover cable as well, went like a rocket first time.

Glad i got it sorted as i'd managed to go from hanging boot image to 'kein system'!

In my case IFA with both cables only worked when i set the ip address of the laptop to 203 (where IFA/hallenberg set the dbox ip to 202), i dont know if that was just this box though.

Using IFA can be frustrating sometimes as you can sit there trying it for ages then all of a sudden it flashes and your like "What the hell?"
Be patient and you'll eventually get there in the end.
