Default Issues with mounting a NAS

Hello,
thought I would see if I can get some help with trying to setup my dbox's to record to a NAS device.

I have tried in commando 10d, network settings under mount setup, heres a screenshot...

I've also tried doing manual smbmount's and editting the /etc/fstab file, and running mount /mnt/NAS but am just getting these errors

Quote:
/ # smbmount //192.168.0.200/dbox dbox -I 192.168.0.200 -U dbox
params.c:OpenConfFile() - Unable to open configuration file "/etc/smb.conf":
No such file or directory
Can't load /etc/smb.conf - run testparm to debug it
Added interface ip=127.0.0.1 bcast=127.255.255.255 nmask=255.0.0.0
Domain=[] OS=[] Server=[R]
security=share
smb: \> mount /mnt/NAS
/ # mount error: No such device
Please refer to the smbmnt(8) manual page
mount failed

/ #
Quote:
/ # cat /etc/fstab
proc /proc proc defaults 0 0
tmpfs /tmp tmpfs defaults 0 0
sysfs /sys sysfs noauto 0 0
devpts /dev/pts devpts noauto 0 0
//192.168.0.200/dbox /mnt/NAS smbfs rw,noauto 0 0
/ # mount /mnt/NAS
mount: using /etc/fstab
mount: mounting //192.168.0.200/dbox on /mnt/NAS failed: No such device
/ #
Any ideas, as i'm starting to pull my hair out.
The NAS is just a basic Iomega Home network hard disk, which supports ftp and windows file sharing (smb)

I have tried CIFS, but that never worked.

thanks

Before using smbmount / smbmnt do this via telnet:

Code:
insmod smbfs
Usually does the trick.

I've just given that a go, the mount command didnt work still, smbmount did, but not reliably, as shown below when trying to record...

thats just the end snippet of dmesg.
The resulting TS files are broken to the point they won't play at all, it appears it keeps dropping and retrying the connection.

Any ideas?
Cheers
