Default Cap in hand... I've ballsed it up :(

hello everyone.

cut to the chase, i took it upon myself to try to fix our dbox (nokia dbox2). we had problems with certain channels and the bouquet was up the left.

i reflashed from commando 11 to andromeda v2.0, thinking this would solve the problem. turns out there is much more to this stuff than i thought.

current status.. the scan found loads of channels, but none of them actually work. i've been reading countless forums and guides, but they either skip steps that are beyond me, or presume i have certain files, of which i have none.

can someone at least tell me what i am missing, and maybe even point me in the right direction? i am conscious of the forum rules, and i'm not looking to start trouble, but my current situation leaves me with no tv and a nokia paperweight

thanks to anyone who can help me out

any image u download will not include the key files
these are needed to decode the scrambled channels you need to ftp these files to the box yourself

the hardest part is getting hjold of them because they are different for each area and forum rules say we cant upload them as an attachment as they are illegal

what area are you from?

The only area-specific files are the ones produced by a Service Scan: services.xml and bouquets.xml - and you won't find either in any set of magic files I've ever seen. Coz they are fluid- forever on the move. And you don't actually need any magic files to carry out a successful Fast Scan, after Setting your Location, either.

The so-called magic files (NOT to be found anywhere on this board) are not regional- but are pan-UK. Google for our Oz friend Caoimhe's site- mercs.us for testing and educational purposes only. That's as much help as we're prepared to give...

Please read our rules fully, before coming back with a load more questions.
