Default Chirping / Freezing on latest image

Hi Guys and Gals..

I need some image advice..

i have found the best image of all time for stability for both of my boxes and my mums too..

The image is a GAV12345 image dated december 25th (think it was actually noveber) last year.

i never get chirping or freezing..

the kernal is 2.4.36.6-dbox2

any other image i put onto these boxes ends up freezing and chirping on at least half of the channels..

Here is the twist..

I really like the new commando 11 image and features and would really really really like to upgrade to it.. but the stability is just not ther on these boxes.

is there any way i can merge the images and get the stability of the original one i have while getting the features of the new one?

I look forward to your reply... thanks..

Your answer is very likely a simple one, m8. Drag yourself away from the telly for an hour or so with Gav's image resident on the box. Arm yourself with a notepad and pencil (and maybe a rubber, too).

Trawl through ALL the menus, and make note of all the settings you see. Then reflash with C11 - and tweak all the settings in there to match the ones you noted. When happy(ish)- BACKUP the image, so you have a fresh starting point for ongoing tweaking and testing.

Cheers- AL

Probly (most likely) nothing to do with this, but since the recent channel frequency switches VM did, I have been getting more chirping, but only on certain channels... not a clue why though. ^_^

e.g. dave channel chirps every 10-20 seconds now, but dave ja vue doesn't.. it's a bit odd and could be my connection. ^_^ Been meaning to re-wire the cable between my room and the room with the cable socket for a while now, lol.

i gone through the images with a fine tooth comb and the settings areexactly the same in every case i can find...

i know that the signal levels in my street arent too good and i have tried boosters etc.

the only thing i can think of is that the decoder in that image (and in an old Pachino image i had a while back) are more friendly to my tuner...

what parts of the image are responsible for that? It may be a noob question but hay - if i need to ask i need to ask..

thanks again guys
