Hello to all, this is my first post so be gentle....lol
On Saturday I turned on my dbox to watch the football on espn and the channel was jumping and starting and generally very annoying. I decided to to a rescan to see if that would cure it and all it did was say that no channels were found, So immediatley i was thinking that Vir**n had decided to play with the keys and destroy my joy of TV. I then proceded to do a long scan on all uk scanning. This ended up taking ages as you know and it came up with channels but no sky sports 1 and 3 and no espn, there were around 50 channels missing from before. I now have espn back but it is jumping and starting again but no sky sports 1 and 3. I was wondering if this is just a sgnal issue or maybe something deeper as my friends dbox gets sky sports 1 and 3 and espn but is still jumpy on my cable input. The ber signal is up around 262000 which i know is high. Any input or help would be appreciated. I am running the andromeda v2.0 image |

Hi M8. Welcome to the site!
The BER is through the roof. Try looking here to fix it. Chirping / Freezing channels Andromeda is old now. Either update your image to C11.3 or drop your backed-up Service and Bouquet files back into Andromeda. If you can't get all channels on a scan it may be that VM are messing in your area. It may sort itself out if you scan when they finish messing. Also try leaving the background scan on....it should pick up channels if the signal improves. Cheers! |

Thanks for the info mate, I have actually been on the freezing and chirping thread right after i posted this, So i had a feeling it was the signal and not my image.
Went round my next door neighbours and scanned the box there and it did fast scan and worked a treat so its my signal coming in methinks... about the background scan i used to have a commando image on the box but when they started screwing up the boxes last year i ended up with this image and its worked great since but i have noticed that it doesn't put any new channels in the new channel bouqet like the commando image did. So you've guessed it where do i find that setting please? thanks in advance... |

Check your cable and connections.
I ended up having to change my cable and it worked perfectly so it must have had a crack in it somewhere. It's worth a try and not expensive for cable either............ What you gotta lose. |
