no wonder you had no luck, flashwizard pro is used to flash / back up a dreambox image.....assuming u got a dbox2, not dbox, back up img using remote thru dbox menu commands sometning like dbox - service - img upgrade / back up (maybe expert functions) - backup ONE partition - flash WITHOUT bootloader (image dependant, commands may slightly vary).
This will create an exact copy / backup of your img as it is in the /tmp/ folder called mtd3.img or mtd4.img again image dependant and will be 7.88MB , 8,257,536 bytes any other size the img will not flash correctly...use any ftp proggy to transfer to pc, even IE - rename and date it

Although the dream 500c and dbox2 are similar they are not the same, apart from that they are not identical

Just to clarify for the newbies- rhabarber is suggesting you use the yWeb interface found in most images for Backup to PC.

Cheers- AL

I would love an Option to backup to another Directory than \tmp for people who have mapped drives or even a IDE Interface ...

It would be cool if the backup would suggest the name already but if you could modify it as well.
The Ending .img should be included automatically as Neutrino only looks for IMG Files when trying to load a file

This should be a doddle in Commando 11.3 for a Herren such as yourself, pt-1!!

Notice the Blue button item, which is a fast-track method of creating Flash w/o Bootloader backup image, with a proper name!

The little script that is called from the shell menu is /bin/backup - which you could easily edit to fit your target requirements. Here is the standard C11.3 version of the script (which needs chmod 755 of course):
Code:

#!/bin/sh
if [ -e /tmp/*.img ]; then
rm /tmp/*.img
fi
cat /dev/mtd/3 > /tmp/Commando-11.img
echo "Backup Image Commando-11.img successfully created in /tmp!"
msgbox size=20 refresh=2 title="Image Backup report" msg="~cbackup Commando-11.img saved!~n~n~cdo NOT power off, or the image~n~n~cwill be erased from /tmp !!" fontsize=18
exit
Might be best to let it go to /tmp first, then add a line further down-

mv /tmp/Commando-11.img /pt-1_drivepath

and edit the other stuff to suit yourself. Cheers- AL
