Default Linux Image on 2 Boxes

I've got 2 D boxes both flashed with the same linux image
One works perfectly but the other won't pick anything up in a scan
I've looked at the Bouquet & Service files and there is data missing in the non working box.
Is it just a case of copying across the missing info or is there something else I should be looking at?
Stuart

Yip, just go into your working box and take out all the working files, and then just put back into your non-working box, and that should fix it m8, unless the image has gone read only ??

As wully says, try putting the services from the good box to the bad one.

But if you say, both boxes have the same image, and the bad box finds nothing on a scan, then sounds like a foobed tuner.

Are they both using the same feed point?

I've tried copying the files across and that gives me the channels but no picture/sound
I've tried them on the same cable point and still no joy.

How can I test that the box is taking the signal without any channels?

Getting Frustrated.

Going to flash another image tonight

forgot to mention the originbouquet/service files had a date on them of 1970 before i copied in the working files

The 1970 date on files copied to the dbox is nothing unusual, it just means your box is receiving no services yet! Follow pt-1's advice for a dual box scenario, and put the second 'iffy' box onto the same connection as the first 'good' box- ie: a swap-out.

Then just apply a bit of lateral thinking. If it works- the 'other' cabling / splitters infrastructure is suspect. Connecting your good box to this should verify this is the case. If the iffy box still won't work on a known-good feed- then it points to a knackered (or butchered!) tuner can.

Cheers- AL
