dbox2/general

hi to everybody. im pretty new to the dbox but know my way around a dreambox and all aspects of sat and cable and ive a couple of questions. 1 what does cvs mean. 2 ive been reading the guides and they mention cross-over-cable rj45 do i need one to flash my dbox or do i use a null modem cable or both? and lastly. i dont want to break any rules but how come some forums allow "magic files and keys" yet some dont?, i thought the ban was just uk site pacific, but it seems its just up to the admin/mods of the forums. thanks for your understanding. p.s. if this post is in the wrong section please forgive me
