got a nokia dbox2 and no matter what i try, it wont find any signal, i cant find nothink when doing any scan for channels, any ideas,
using latest commando image 11.3 but i have tried other images and same result, i have tested the line cuz i have another box and that works fine i think it may be tuner, but any idea how to fix will be great thanks,

Are you sure Its a cable dbox not a satellite one ?

In C11.3 - are you seeing the same Scan Menu layout as shown in the screenshots in the PDF readme that we packaged with this Image? Or is that menu full of Satellite gobbledegook?
If it is- the Tuner is probably knacked. If it looks the same menu, have you tried an 'All-Transponders (Brute-force)' Scan? Does this give you FTA channels at least? If not, it might need the 3-legged transistor inside the tuner replacing. Or, you might have a 'slack-Alice' Antenna co-ax socket on the back of this box. Try 5 mins of careful TLC with my attached mini-Tute, and report back please. Cheers- AL

it a cable one, i have tried brute force but finds nothink, i will try whats in antenna text but my ber is between 3000 to 5500, signal good too, i will report back after i have an another mess

Hi,
I had exactly the same problem as you are having a couple of months ago. I tried everything including trying another box which worked fine. As a last, and seemingly worthless long shot, I thought I would change the cable. When I say seemingly worthless, I say that because I had already tried cutting back the cable from the box approx 10 - 12 inches and re-fitting the connector. Well low and behold.......... It worked!!! Just thought I'd mention as it worked for me. |
