Unhappy Error "Channel not available"

Hi all.

Bit of a dilemna and trying to see if my dbox is terminal.

Last few weeks or so my dbox has been auto-shutting down overnight such that i have to restart it the following day. Normally I leave it on standby. It never cuts out whilst i have been watching it.

Yesterday i decided to watch ESPN only to see the message in my title. On further digging I found around 20 or so channels missing. Some FTA like ITV 4, E4 E4+1 and others like ESPN, Bravo 2, Dave ja vu.

I tried the new Commando 11 image, and an old sportser 1.2 but when rescanning these channels are not even found. I then borrowed a freinds box which was setup identically as mine was and that worked on all channels suggesting the signal is fine.

Are there any other tests I can do or should i start looking for a new model. Mine is a Sagem. Its lasted around 5 years. Any ideas/suggestions would be appreciated.

Thanks.

Might just be that the flash chip is on the way out. I have one that as soon as you change settings or bouquet, it will freeze and lose everything. Only way to patch it up is to reflash via a backup from another working box. Just one of things mate.
