Quick Scan & Sky1

just thought ide make a quick thread.

located in st.helens

other week i scanned (quick scan) which lost all channels..

It wouldnt allow me to quick scan.. and had to brute force..

i cancelled brute force & set my location to Rainford (St. Helens) i think it was..

did a quick scan (which was unsucessfull and just said no channels) then had to do a brute force..

it wouldnt bring up sky 1 for some reason?

although i do have 2 & 3, unsure why, any thoughts?

Thats interesting....

After a brute force scan, load your scan into bouquet wizard.

Have a good look at it, can you see loads of new box download streams?

by download streams do you mean those BTV_Service01 etc?

as i dont have bouquet wizard on the box, just bouquet editor,

after the brute force everything went into the correct VM Bouqets, minus Sky1

Im only a few miles away but had the same issue last week...

What I found was that the quick scan i used (laky image last crimbo) faild every time there fore i came to the conclussion that I needed to try something else hence I found you guys .....

So moving forward what I then found was that even on full scans it would find many services but would fail to store ????? but if i scanned with ss4 I was able to store... but fast scan was still inop...

Then we moved to Commando 11........ again fast scan not working but brute force would but... I was missing a number of services SLY1 being one of them. As I was running 2 boxes to play with One with an older image had SLY1 but on a weak freq. 115000 i think, but every time i tried to add this with bouquet wizard it wouldnt store the freq. and dissapear so I just thought I was doing something wrong... Finally I was able to try comm11.13 is it the 31-12-09 release and noted that the fast scan freq in the numpty menu was completely different to the one in all the images I had tried....

By this it would seem now everything is correct for me and I would imagin that the fast scan freq has also changed for you however the fast scan freq in the image req's updating for your area..... try setting your area to freq to 531000 as thats the one I'm using

hi mate, im currently also using the latest commando (online updates are up to date!)

i just tried setting it manually in the services > scan > from 571000 to 531000

returned a blank screen.

went into set my location to St. Helens again, did a fast scan (didnt work again)

so now going through a brute force (back to square one)

unsure whats wrong..

i dont have bouqet wizard, just editor built in the dbox, although is connected to my router and can access it via FTP

I think changes to the cvs caused muckups to Neutrino scanning, I also noticed a brute scan would find channels but fail to store and display "No channels found" when obviously you could see the scan find them.

But if your default freq has changed, then again, I suggest using "bouquet wizard" and have a good look at a successfull scan. Can you see lots of new data services?

im sure that the fast scan freq for st.helens/rainford must be incorrect m8
but you may be able to add the freq for sly1 manually with a xml editor and ftp it back to your box (if all else fails of couse)

I think that if you check the services.xml file for valid frequencies, you can just enter one and the symbol rate into the quick-scan settings on the scan menu (just need first 6 digits of the frequency).

Seems to work for me in pure area. ^_^ (also said about this in another thread and tried various frequencies which had channels on and each one resulted in right number of frequencies to check)

edit: that's the services.xml file in /var/tuxbox/config/zapit/ after doing brute scan or something which resulted in some valid finds. ^_^
