Default Philips/Sagem RC workaround

Hi, I've got Commando 11.3 installed on my Sagem box, and noticed Philips/Sagem RC workaround as one of the menu options. Could someone please tell me what this does and should I have it on or off?

if your remote is working leave it as default as I pursume that it changes the freqency setting for the IR for the older or new remotes. on my dbox remote I can choose between remote 1 or 2 other remotes dont have this .
