Have you tried using the crossover cable method as i have never been able to make use the hyperterminal null modem cable method?

As long as you have a static IP and are using 10 half duplex transfer speed you should be able to get some information from the box using IFA.

I have found a thread in the digital-kaos.co.uk forum that may be of use: -

Dbox2 not booting up and unable to flash

Other than that i have never come across this problem with my dbox however i have messed up a pc by flashing it unsuccessfully so had to send of the bios chip to be reflashed, i'm not sure if a dbox is similar to this...anyone?
