Hi
I was trying to flash a nokia DBOX2, usuing hperterminal and IFA, the box said is a 2 chip box, but when checking it says 2nd flash bad or missing, when I flashed an image over the box wont boot at all, bo response, bo bmon or anything on LCD, (thinks that I have overwritten linux, bmon and everythin), ifa shows no messages, and hyperterminal dosnt even give a prompt Can Anyone Please help Regards Michael |

What version of window are you using and what version of IFA?
I was using windows 7/vista but it would not flash with ifa 3.4 you need xp and ifa 3.11 portable. |

Hi, I am using xp sp3, and 3.11 portable
basicly the box has no boot, os or anything on its flash, as was accently completely erased any help gratefully received in putting the image,boot and image back on flash gratefully received Regards Michael |

Have you tried using the crossover cable method as i have never been able to make use the hyperterminal null modem cable method?
As long as you have a static IP and are using 10 half duplex transfer speed you should be able to get some information from the box using IFA. Regards, pure_jax |

Hi yes i've tried the crossover and just serial and both, but brcause no bootloader or OS theres no way to send it data using those

I have found a thread in the digital-kaos.co.uk forum that may be of use: -
Dbox2 not booting up and unable to flash Other than that i have never come across this problem with my dbox however i have messed up a pc by flashing it unsuccessfully so had to send of the bios chip to be reflashed, i'm not sure if a dbox is similar to this...anyone? |

you can try using dbox boot manager
or you could do it with a null modem |
