Hi there. I've been using Commando 12 for a while now and there seem to be a few problems arising with it. I've searched the forums to try and find answers for a couple of issues already but can't find any final solutions or fixes.
Firstly i have checked for online updates on my box and it tells me that it is up-to-date. The first problem i am having is that i keep loosing the EPG. I've tried putting the new sectionsd file that FreddyFr0g made on my box but i continue to have the same problem. Think this was 12032010 Sectionsd or something. The next is that just recently a few channels keep 'Skipping'. It's only the channel 4 ones, like 4+1, E4, E4+1, More 4 and Film 4. I've tried all 3 uCodes that are on my box, some are worse than others but 0014 seems to work the best, but not on the stated channels. Any ideas on either issue would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance. (Think i might have posted in the wrong area to start with. Sorry) |

Don't worry about previous post in the wrong section, I'll go sort it.
Hopefully Paphos, Renny or LraiZer can help you with the issues.......... SS

Is by skipping you mean the sound and image breaks down continuously? Do you use a splitter? Try without it to test if it's not just a signal problem.

Have a go and let us know... I'm using a splitter as well and everything was fine until a few days back... only a few channels are affected in my case though but completely fine when I take out the splitter.

The cable from the wall to the splitter is about 6 inches; from the splitter to the modem about 2 foot; and the splitter to the box about 3 foot. It's only a 2-way splitter and i've used pretty good quality co-axial cable. Like i said before everything used to work fine and none of the cables have been fiddled with. Could the signal strength on the feed to our house have decreased or something??? I'm not home until friday but i'll try then. As much as i'd like to fix the problem, i hope it's not the splitter causing it because it'd be a pain in the arse if i could only use one of the box or the modem at a time.
Thanks for your help though guys! |

Bingo! I think we've found your problem. Change the patch cable from splitter to modem for one that is 3 metres or more in length. You can neatly coil this up and tuck it away out of site.
I had exactly the same issue a couple of years ago and this fixed it for me. It seems that broadband traffic interferes with digiTV signals when the two units are too close to each other cabling-wise. Cheers- AL
