Have tried that one before querying it. See screenshot below. This was with a new password 8 characters long.
There doesn't appear to be a passwd file when i've looked with FlashFXP, at least not in the same place where it is on the DM7020 in Var/etc. I have tried patching the file from my Dreambox and from PB Enigma v8 on the dBox2 but those don't seem to compatible at all as the box just ignors it. I have changed the permissions but this has made little impact. I have managed to get it to scan the sats, although it has been a little problematic. I have had to copy the satellites.xml file from my DM7020 and it works ok, the box scans fine and all the diseq stuff is there and works fine. The only issue is at the end of the scan the box locked up and needed a hard-reset before it would work again. Not a major issue. After reboot there was a little messing around required before i could access the stored channels, but got there in the end. I had to create a bouquet and then it gave me access. A bit strange, but i think as this image was written for cable boxes more than sat its just something that just needs to be worked through. Only Skin issue i have found since adding the new default.esml file is on the online upgrade which comes up. Code:
Fatal Error, Skinload of eupgrade failed ![]() Nano |

The passwd file in SS-Enigma V4.0 is in /etc and is the standard 125 bytes file with no actual password. In Telnet, it shouldn't even ask for a password, like I said. For FTP, at least one character is needed- any character. Most peeps think the password has to be dbox2, but this is a fallacy.
Can't believe the skin mods worked first time, woooooo!!! If your /etc/passwd is somehow bigger than 125 bytes, then overwrite it with the one attached (just remove the .txt extension). Dreambox Edit (with FTP functionality built in) is the best tool for organising Bouquets, m8. The Bouquet Editor inside the Enigma GUI is crap. Cheers- AL
