Question Not able to FTP to DBox2 - invalid username/password

Hi Guys,

I have been trying to FTP to my DBox2 using SmartFTP from my laptop. DBox is connected to my router via CAT5 and my laptop is also directly connected to router via CAT5 cable.

These are the login crudentials I have tried -
Username: root
Password: dbox have also tried dbox2

I am unable to connect and displayed in the log is the message '530 Login incorrect'.

Is there any way I can reset the password to default settings, or have I set it up incorrectly?

I am running C11 and since about a week ago, I have been unable to receive any channels - even FTA. On doing a brute force scan 300+ channels are found but when selecting any - I receive a 'error channel cannot be displayed' (or something like that) message displayed on all channels even all FTA ones!

Your advice and wisdom is greatly appreciated....

That takes care of the password, which you would have found had you read the illustrated readme PDF that accompanied the C11 release!

If you're not clearing FTA even, then something is wrong with your cable feed. Connect the box directly to the incoming wall point with a known good patch lead and try again.

Cheers- AL

Thanks for that! Someone else installed C11 for me, but has now disappeared off the face of the earth!
Tried connecting DBox to the point that the VM box is connected to, VM box is working, but still not clearing any channels on DBox.
Although... I did see my 21 month old son with the DBox remote last week sometime, so not sure if he messed up any settings?!
