Default Dbox2 USAL Support ???

Hi All,

I have a Phillips Dbox2 (2x Intel) with satellite tuner which is attached to a rotor. I have tried about 15 images and not found any that support USAL and have not been able to get my rotor working with ANY of the images. I suerly don't have to do a manual rotor setup these days.

My rotor works perfectly with my Triple Dragon with the following settings in the TD:

Adv. DISEqC (Ku-Band)
Ku-Band LNB-type = Universal (9.75 / 10.6 GHz)
Rotor/LNB-Power = normal (13/17v)

Any advice on an image that may work with my rotor and have english support would be VERY appreciated. Or is there a plugin that takes care of it?

TIA,

Evil

I don't think tuxbox neutrino supports Usals but Enigma does.

Which images have you tried?

If you really want a neutrino with usals I think a Russian group coded one, let me know and I'll hunt it down for you.

Hi Satsearching,

Neutrino or Enigma is fine, I am used to Enigma with Triple Dragon and Neutrino a little with an old dm500c I had.

So far I have tried:

- 2x_Petze_24.07.2010
- 2x_Sat_MD-Image_5.41rc2_17122009
- bosman2xNeutrino210510
- Commando_12_LZMA_x2_2010_19h05
- CVS-ENIGMA-NEUTRINO-2xI_Beta_by_bosmann
- DT-ENIGMA_V2_Mulltiemu_scam__2xi
- Keywelt_V1_September_2x_SQUASHFS_2009
- ruDbox2_Enigma_1.8_update_mod_mrvica_2x
- NG-R21_SATuKabel_2x
- PB_Enigma_V7
- PB_Enigma_V8_2x
- Sportster-Pro_2.00_RC006_20100706_1358_2xI
+ A few others I can't remember the names of.

I do need the Adv. Disecq where I just enter my longitude and latitude (USALS) really.

Of the images I have tested above many don't have "english.locale", which I can ofcourse add, but does not have any effect on custom menus. Full english local in the image would be great, but I understand beggars-can't be-choosers!

Is it that the Dbox2 being the age it is people don't bother so much with its development anymore? At least as far as satellite goes.

Thanks,

Evil

Ok, try pb-enigma again, I don't have a sat dbox2 but I'm sure it should support it (tuxbox based images for enigma 500 defo support it).

In setup --> motor setup, is there an option to select "gotoXX Function" ??

Thanks SS - I have done a bit of googling "gotoXX" and by all accounts it's pretty crap. Most people are having to setup manually with disecq 1.2 :-(
I find it hard to believe that there arn't images with Adv. Disecq USALS built in?!

I have just reflashed the PB image as you suggested and it does have the gotoXX function, which I have again tested and it does not work.

no Dbox2 users have rotors? or just too much time on their hands . . .

Any further help very much appreciated.

Cheers,

Evil

Goto XX is more or less the same as Usals, for legal reasons some boxes and motors cannot use the term "Usals"

Have a look here --> Usals

It may be your box OR the motor that is the problem, I had similar problems a few years ago that was down to the motor (despite it having official Usals branding) that didn't do usals properly.

I have a genuine Stab motor now, and my DM500, DM7025 and Coolstream box drive it fine with "Goto XX"

I'm not sure about a Dbox2 though but worth to keep trying with pb-enigma, but can you confirm your motor works fine with Usals on a different type of box?

Are you getting your lat long details correct? Try here -->Select Town(s) in

Yes it works perfectly with my Triple Dragon. My motor is a "HH100 STAB/GbSAT Motor", I may as well stick with PB Enigma and and manually setup sat positions if needed. It's just a real surprise that from what I have read gotoXX doesn't work for most people and their is no improvement of it or USALS available for Dbox2.

Thanks alot for your help, I will keep plugging away with it.

Cheers,

Evil

Well I guess the same source code is used between the Dbox2 and DM500 for gotoXX/Usals on tuxbox, maybe the dbox2 psu isn't up to it?

I'm not sure if the Dbox2 was ever designed to use gotoXX.

But keep trying, I don't know how old the tuxbox source is that pb-enigma use, but if you still have problems I could do a dbox2 compile for you to try with the latest tuxbox cvs checkout if you want?

Hmmn. Still not working at all, either manually or with gotoXX.

If you don't mind I am happy to try a new build. Is there anything in CVS about Dbox2 "Adv. Diseqc" or "USALS"?

A friend of mine has verified that on Coolstream neutrino, you can enter longitude and latitude and it works flawlessly. I don't know whether something can be nicked from that svn?

Cheers,

Evil
