Sat Nokia Dbox 2 problem

Hello ive been messing about when i have had time with a old sat Nokia Dbox 2 that i had in the loft which i got in error years ago. I have been trying to get a image to run stable on it and the only one that runs ok ish is commando 12 BUT i cant scan on it i have to use the sat xml off a dreambox to get it too work and i cannot for the love of god get cccam to run on the dam thing!

There is another slight issue with it too when i ised to run the dbox on cable i used to have no problem backing up the image and flashing off the box but this one is proving a little different. It will not back up the image as it locks up at about 70% and i cant load a image on it and flash it that way as it locks too. I have to use IFA to get it too work.

I dont want to give up on this box as i like me old dbox and was gutted when it wall went silent earlier on in the year. Commando was always the best image and could always use it without too much of a problem. Ive tried the enigma images and they just tend too lag so bad it makes the box unuseable as it is soooooo slow and laggy. It would be asier to buy a dreambox yes i know but i dont want to chuck it in the loft if i can get it going lol

Let's deal with what looks like the most serious problem first- why can't you backup and flash via the /tmp folder?

Telnet in, and do a df command, then copy the screen of your PC as a bitmap image and let us see the piccy. Or just write the data down and report back.

Not sure if the guys made the dbox version with cccam support, easy way to tell is, tune to a fta channel and make sure it displays ok on your telly.

Now, ftp into /tmp.

Can you see a file called pmt.tmp?

thanks guys for the reply. Ive not got the box here at the moment it is at my mates. We can get a picture o fta and we can get all the fta no problem. We can get the cccam to connect to the server but it cuts off after about 5 seconds and doesnt clear. We cannot scan with it but that isnt too much of a problem as i got the sat xml off the dreambox and that work luckily lol

Im getting the box back in about a hour so i will have a look then. It says in the free memory when i have installed commando that there is only 2800k free space which is a bit odd i thought! I have got a couple of dbox2 cable ones here and if i have to take a few bits off them then its no great loss to get this one working.

there is no file of that name in the tmp folder mate only

Then, that is the problem. "pmt.tmp"

You need to sweet talk AL and Renny for a new build with that mod included. Obviously hard for them to do as they don't have dbox sat hardware to test.

Plus, the main dbox2 old box sat seller in Germany is asking double the price of 1 new clone dm500 sat box.

Oh well it was worth a go i suppose. I wont ask as i dont like to impose but thanks to eveyone for all your help on this i guess i will just stick it in the loft again lol

A build from our svn would work though

Although, we don't support cams at all, we have a mod in the svn to help with streaming that creates a pmt.tmp.

Is there anyway to mod the sat commando 12 one as i know that works as i got that working the other day for one of my mates lol Or would it be worth trying to play around with the image that i have on here now to see if i can get it working or is it a ground up re build?
