Default Sagem DBox 2, "Keine System"

The title says it all - I have a DBox 2 which has no OS image on it. I don't need any help getting an image on, I just need the image ;-)

If anyone is interested, I can put together a Howto for getting an image onto a DBox from Linux.

Aye, very good. Googling brings up plenty of forums with lots of helpful little comments like "Try a search, or google". Most of the forums expect you to make a certain number of "meaningful posts" before downloading files, but it's extremely hard to find anything to post meaningfully about a broken DBox.

Oh sorry. I'm used to the IRC or newsgroup style of doing things, where you ask your question and shut up while people spoon feed me who know more answer and do the hard work for me ;-) I'm not particularly used to forums.

Well we dont particularly tend to spoon feed here mate, i was just pointing out how it works around ere, and could tell from your 1st post that u was not used to the forums so i just suggested whats best way about going round things around ere and other forums alike...

@Gordonjcp... firstly, it helps if people aren't sarcastic. Additionally, you're here looking for help. If you want us to help, you need to play by our rules. End of.

WRT making constructive posts, there are multiple useful sections on our forum. Hopefully, one of these sections will cover your expertise (if you happen to have one). This is where you need to go and help people. These are considered as constructive posts.

My personal experience has been that if one is polite and helpful enough, you get a lot of help pretty quick. But, feel free to keep banging your head against the wall if you should so desire to do so. Anybody's guess what's going to break first.

I'm not looking for anyone to "spoon feed" me an answer.

Incidentally, if anyone wants a DBox, I'm getting rid of mine. It has, as already mentioned, no OS on it, but it looks like it would tftp down an image no bother at all.

@pande_monium: Thanks for the advice. I can't actually figure out how to get into any other threads on this page, so I suspect it would be best if I just left it.

Perhaps some helpful mod could delete my account.
