Where is this storage / Who is your storage provider? You might be able to use FTPFS.

First off- do you have your dBox actually connected to the web yet, via your router? If yes- then it's a piece of p*ss to do what you want to do!
For example- each morning, my boxes do a timed reboot, at which point all the Channel Icons (and certain other, cough, files) are downloaded from an overseas server to my boxes /tmp folder. Peeps with dBoxes connected to the Web are going to have a bundle of fun when Commando 11.3 hits the scene, LOL! (Don't worry if your dBox isn't web connected though- we've made provision for you too...) wget does the trick nicely, Speedy, m8! Cheers- AL

Hmm box.net dont have any (S)FTP outside access so that rules out using FTPFS. I dont fully know how the service works but by the sounds of it I think you can "publish" the files to make them public. If you do that for each one you need then you could download them via wget. But I don't think thats very practical. Just tried to sign up for an account but they want credit card details so won't risk going any further to investigate in case I forget to cancel after the 14 day trial lol.

There's nothing stopping you from using your FREE virgin media 50mb Web Storage space to host files needed by the dbox in a dedicated folder.
This comes as part and parcel of your Broadband package, though a lot of people don't realize that this facility is available! Cheers- AL

Im sure you can use one of freeserves web spaces like (anything.8k.com) they give you 50mg webspace to use thats if you dont want to use the virgn one, plus as long as you access the site once in a while the dont close you down
