Quick tips for streaming with VLC and windows 7.
I'm fiddling with windows 7 at the moment and came across a problem, the command line from pt-1's dbox guide to add the VLC httpd interface as a service doesn't work anymore (vlc.exe -I ntservice --ntservice-install --ntservice-options "--sout-transcode-fps 25.0000" --ntservice-extraintf "http"). I can't work out how to add this as a service again (if anyone knows how to do it, post it here!) but I found out how to at least start it when someone is login in the computer. It's based on How To Run Programs Automatically On Windows 7 System Startup : 1. Run gpedit.msc 2. Got to the User Configuration > Windows Settings > Scripts(Log on/Log off) option 3. Add VLC and put the following option: -I http --sout-transcode-fps 25.0000 That seems to work fine for me, obviously, someone needs to be logged in... |
