You've probably annihilated the shellexec menu system. Easiest way back is to reflash with your backed-up image, then be more careful what you mess with in the future!!

If you haven't created any backups for archiving on your PC, then you'll have to reflash with the original release image. And learn your lesson- which is to make a backup in future!

Cheers- AL

Arh... yes I didn't back up anything before I was messing around with the menus, little did I know that what I messed with would result in the ability to undo or mess further being taken away!

A little knowledge can sometimes be very dangerous, m8... WTF were you trying to change, anyway?

I had your \/irgin 2.1 working fine for ages, then a strange thing happened, i could not longer re scan the channels and it started freezing a lot and lost a lot of channels, still had the epg but no picture, so i tried to change the settings and ended up f#ing it up.

If I could get it back to how it was with the 2.1 working fine that would be great but i don't have the knowledge to do it yet.

hi jim, i got your PM.

the best thing to do (in my opinion) - do not be scared away yet..

is to re-flash your box with the commando 11 image located on this website, due to the stability & updates etc.

to begin - look here:

NEWBIE GUIDE: Connecting dbox2 to wireless router

and here:

NEWBIE GUIDE: Connecting dbox2 to ethernet cable

--

assuming your clueless - those guides where written by me and i assure you they are bullet proof for newbies.

if there are any links (not checked), they may be out of date, however, a quick search on google or through the forums and youl find what your looking for.

however remember this site only supports FTA (Free to Air) so you wont receive dodgey channels..

HOWEVER.. check your mail back.

best of luck - hopefully if i cannot help, someone else can!

I'd done something similar earlier this week, (been playing too much and deleted something i shouldn't) so when i tried to online updated i couldn't.

Anyway reflashed now and got everything working and very happy because the intermittent picture freeze / stutter has gone too.

Result, but lesson learned (i'll stop playing and leave it to the experts)
