bit too much extra payload for cosmetic stuff that nobody will ever use. not too much extra to add the missing symbols to the already existant libpng but the extra libjpg because picviewer is not present would give AL a heartattack lol

with code changes to remove jpg support could probably drop this in for an extra 50k

Nice work, LraiZer! Yes please, blitz the jpeg support if you can, as I reckon it will then fit into root.

Thinking of the recent work on the Commando Infobar, this would have been a wonderful tool to have had at our disposal during it's dev. But whether it would actually serve any useful purpose to the end-user in a release image is a moot point, as you say...

It's not like enigma, where a user can add and/or mod OSD Skins, then show off his work on the forums with screenshots, is it? So perhaps it might be best to leave it as a var install and as an optional extra.

Cheers- AL

Edit:

LraiZer- I think there may be a bug in the grab code, m8. I edited the dboxshot script by adding -p to the command line, to force a video /osd grab into png format, instead of bmp

This works nicely, it just takes a while longer- and the resulting image filesize is about a quarter of what a bmp would have been. BUT, the file is still named a.bmp !! You have to manually rename it to a.png before PSP7 will open it.

Same if you click on the image and select Save. It's listed as a.bmp
