Channel Icons for C14.4 Infobar

I have got lost and reflashed and reordered the current bouquets.

Got picons on some and not others but everything else works which is the main thing.

The attachment in post #1 has just been updated to include new Channel Icons for the following channels:

PBS
Sky Atlantic
Universal
Universal+1

If anyone spots any missing icons for popular channels, please shout, and we'll try our best to include them

OK, relearning how to use RawIconEditor all over again to create those three new picons (thanks to Alcohol_Junkie's excellent Tute) gave me the inspiration to carry out a major overhaul of the Channel Icons package.

The attachment in post #1 has been updated; just follow the easy instructions there for installing the latest picons set into Commando 14.4

Changelog (since 27 Oct 2011 Icons package release):

Missing +1 icons:

The existing +1 icons in the 27 Oct 2011 package release remain intact. We've added 30 new ones (that were missing) as symlinks to their existing (and in many cases, new) parent channel's icons. We don’t want the package becoming too bloated- after all, picons are only a cosmetic feature.

We now have 201 'solid' picons plus 79 symlinks, making 280 channels covered, which we think is about right. But if anyone comes across any popular channels that don’t have an icon, and they feel it should, then don’t be afraid to shout.

Thanks for the updated icons guy`s, now, is there any chance of getting a STV one please...Thanks....

Need to ask, my remote is not giving me the option to turn the volume up or down, it is showing channels moving up when i press the volume up button, now there used`t to be an option to set the remote buttons if i remember correctly, but im not finging it in the image, so how do i change the volume buttons to give me volume...Thanks...

Oh sod it, have it now, wullboy. Just rename it from STV.txt TO STV.raw and then FTP it to /var/etc/icons

Tested and working. I take it that STV stands for Sweaty TeleVision ??

OK- download in post #1 is now updated to include the new picon for STV. We'll be releasing this package to other boards later today, and wanted the version on our board to be the same as the one they'll be getting.

The take-up rate for C14.4 looks particularly good on Digital-Kaos, so it makes good sense to share our work with users there.

LraiZer has reported back with a few schoolboy errors I made in the latest picons update package. For example, the picons for Nick Jr. 2 and Sky Arts 1 weren't working due to being slightly misnamed, and I had somehow let the old picons for Sky Living+1 and Sky Livingit+1 slip back in.

All now corrected in the latest update in post #1, where you'll also find the eazy install instructions for the package.

Another new updated package to download in post #1 folks. Here's what has changed since our last 18 November release:

Sports: Latest styles for Sky Sport 4 (relacing old Sky Spts Xtra), and Eurosport UK / Eurosport2 UK. New picons for Chelsea TV, Premier Sports, Prem Spts Xtra, Primetime, and BoxNation

Entertainment: New picons for men&movies and S4C

Kids: New icon for Cartoonito

News: Latest style for Sky News, plus new picons for the 9 foreign news channels- NHK, Russia Today, FRANCE24, Al Jazeera, FOX, CCTV, NDTV, Press TV, and CNC World. This involved searching for source graphics on a Country basis, visiting USA, Russia, France, India, Qatar, China, Japan and Iran. (Felt like I’d been around the world in 2 hours, LOL!)

Muzak: New set of latest style picons for all 9 MTV channels. Plus 18 new ones for the muzak channels that lacked picons- VIVA, 4Music, KISS, Q. Chart Show TV, Bliss, Flava, The Vault, Vintage TV (I’ll have to check THAT out!), Channel AKA, Starz TV, Scuzz, DanceNationTV, Greatest Hits TV, NME TV, Clubland TV, and Massive R&B.

SUMMARY

The picons package now comprises 236 solid raw picons and 82 symlinks, making 318 channels covered. Physical memory payload is only 148kb (and NOT the 687kb that FTP will report).

CLARIFICATION

Someone on WoD has asked us to make clear that to install this package, you simply FTP the latest update.zip file ‘AS IS’ to /var/etc/ and then reboot.

It will throw up errors if you try and unzip it into a Windoze environment. It’s a special zip file compiled on the Ubuntu Linux platform, especially for linux neutrino C14.4

ok lads i dont like to do this but at the moment i had to addmet defeet in trying to make a picon i got my new ps2 keyboard so i can now get onto xp when i reboot but i still cant get things rite trying to do them so if someone would be kind to do these for me when you have the time


now if anyone can till me is there any other progs that will do the same that i can use in windows 7 as most of the stuff used is old cheers all tony
