Complete Enigma Backup?

Having just got a satellite Linux box running Enigma, I was wondering if it's possible to take a complete backup of the Image like you can with Neutrino?

I know you can take a /var backup with Flash Wizard, but I would like to take a complete backup if possible.

Try accessing it via it's IP address from IE, lincsat- to see if it has a web i/f similar to yWeb in neutrino. You might find a full (or rather, Flash w/o Bootloader) facility in there?

Should be able too, what box type and image is it?

If its a dreambox thats uses a enigma .nfi image, then yes. There is a plugin available. Let us know the box type. Or if it's a 500 theres a telnet method.

It's a 600 copy, currently with a DSTeam 4 image - nothing on the web interface or on the online downloadable plug-in menu.

What mags has posted is an old plugin. I'll post a addon that gives you an actual .nfi backup and all the info you need. I'll post later today.

This plugin will give u a full .NFI image backup on the following Dreamboxes: -

8000, 800, 7025, 7020, 600, 500+

Ftp enigma2-plugin-systemplugins-nfibackup_2 0091024_mipsel.ipk to /tmp or /media/hdd then install using software management built into your current image.

Once intalled, ftp build-nfi-image.sh into /usr/bin/ overwriting the existing. Then CHMOD755. Reboot Dreambox and you should see it in your plugins list.

You'll need to have a hdd installed or network mounted to use the plugin.

The one developed by Gemini is just that, but because of the size of a true .nfi backup you need a HDD installed or networked.
