Default NAS drive on DM500 ??

Hi- does anyone have any experience of successfully mounting a NAS hdd on their DM500?

I'm looking at the possibility of storing up to 8 days EPG on such an external device, which my two DM500S boxes can then read.

Any hints, tips or advice appreciated, guys!

Cheers- AL

Sorry AL cant help with the NAS question,

Hmmmm.... and if the 'PC' was actually a Linux server on 24/7, apart from a daily cronjob reboot, same as the dm's???

As you've all probably gathered by now, I'm a complete noob on the Satellite front, not to mention that I've NEVER yet played with shares and mounts in any form...

But now, I'm getting all excited at the thought that the nice Linux Server I'm waiting for will have the potential to carry out more functions than the primary one (ahem!) intended for it.

If we can get this sqlite Radio Times EPG issue cracked, then 8 Days full EPG for the best 200 channels will be a realistic proposition- downloaded at 0500 daily by, and stored on, the server. With both DM500's set to find their EPG from the /epg folder on the server hard drive.

Similarly, all the Channel Icons could be stored on the server, too- rather than take up valuable space under /var on each Dreambox. And more, no doubt...

A fair old learning curve looms for me, but I'm really looking forward to it, guys!

Cheers- AL

Dont know how you are getting on AL.
Under linux I use

Code:
/bin/mount -t cifs -o username=ac,password=whatever,iocharset=utf8 //nas-ip/folder-on-nas /mnt/nas
Hopefully the above makes sense

Mount wherever, I created /mnt/nas
