Cool LraiZer, I'll give that a go when I get a chance.

my Rytec version is coming along nicely but i've stumbled across a weird issue with one of the channels when the script generates the events file. Hopefully one of you guys can help me get sain again

I've attached 2 channel xml files plus the index xml file. The Orig one is the one automatically produced by my script and the Saved one was created by me opening the Orig one up in notepad++ and saving as a different name without making any changes... the Saved xml file loads into neutrino epg but the Orig one doesn't.... argh!!!!

There must be a stupid control character in there somewhere but I can't find it!!!!

For info, the channel is one of the STV channels on sat.

Cheers.
Attached Files - Who Downloaded?
File Type: rar channel xmls.rar (21.7 KB, 3 views)

you cant have a direct £ sign in your xml, take the £ sign out of events 108 and 138 program infos and try to loading again. you can now use the printf function with your event id using the small busybox in post #40

ha ha ha ha... If Notepad++ was a book I'd be throwing it at the wall right now... it doesn't show me the £ signs when the xml file is opened so it must remove it automatically without telling me!!!

is there any other strange characters I need to filter out?

ive not added full filtering myself yet either, at the moment im only converting the 5 main ones during testing.

< > & ' "

apart from these main 5 which i think rytec have already converted, i think the pound and euro signs are ones that need adding to the filter but as ive not tested the full char range yet, you will need to create events to check a complete charset and see which events fail to load.

seeing that neutrino fails to load the whole channel file if there is a £ sign present, it should be pretty easy to identify any issues in the future

just modified my script to filter out the £ sign and it loads flawlesly... cheers!
