Hi guys,
I know this is old news as its been around for a while but just wondering how I can set up channels logos on my rudbox neutrino image (Neutrino.DREAM Plus v2.03/8bit-colorset) as I can't get it working ![]() I found a post elsewhere thats says the following for the Neutrino.DREAM Plus v2.03/8bit-colorset Quote:
I've got a sample ITV2 logo (attached) and changed the name to 7fc00022756.gif but no joy when I place it in /var/share/icons/logo/ any pointers? |

I'd hang on a bit on this one, m8, if I were you. At present, neutrino only handles Channel Icons in the infobar using 16 color RAW format, which to be honest, look crap!
On the dark side in Enigma however, we already have a very nice set of picons on the go, covering 258 popular channels. These are in 256 color PNG format, and are sized at 70x53 px. Over 600 symlinks are used to cover all regional 28.2E variations of channel mappings for the 258 png files, using this nomenclature: 1_0_1_1A30_7DD_2_11A0000_0_0_0.png This example symlink is what Enigma actually reads, case-sensitive, and with any leading zeros omitted from the Sid and TSid hex values. The default folder path for this lot is /var/tuxbox/config/enigma/picon and the kit weighs in at around 500kb. As most DM500S boxes will be 'online' (in order to access things like TuxWeather etc ), we have played with a test image where the picon folder is actually a symlink to /tmp/picon - and at boot, a picon tarball is downloaded to /tmp - unzipped to /tmp/picon - then the tarball is deleted. This works very well, and adds less than 5 secs to boot time.We now have the guru (he knows who he is) looking at the possibility of modding neutrino, so that it handles 256 color png graphics. After all, both neutrino and enigma use the same 132kb libpng12.so.0 file, but the only thing neutrino seems to use this for at the moment is the 2 color png graphics for the LCD. Which the DM500S doesn't even have, LOL! If we do manage to commonize the picons for both platforms, then it wouldn't be too long before we saw a DM500S UkCvs Enigtrino release... Cheers- AL

Interesting! I wonder what the release note for the rudbox image means then... possibly to do with using the LCD to display the logos????

that would be my guess, those notes were probably for a dm7025 with an lcd display. the dm500 rudbox image does look for missing raw files in /share/tuxbox/neutrino/icons/ though.
