I think this maybe down to a driver issue, there are a few different driver variants that maybe Al could write a shellexec menu around his miniops to test in a beta image

In the dw dm500 neutrino images they could swap the head.ko for older versions.
Just renamed them by date and loaded a symlink called head.ko in /var/etc which pointed to the file they wanted but jffs needed to be loaded earlier in the rcS file or the box would hang as when it tried to insmod /var/etc/head.ko /var wouldn't be mounted.
A quick miniops script would delete the old /var/etc/head.ko symlink and make a new one pointing to the different date/name head.ko.
He won't be happy having to store 4 or more versions of head.ko as they are not small files

I think it needs doing though, my clone seems happier with the latest driver with neutrino, I know renny and AL's box are better with an older head.ko.

Just odd it doesn't appear to effect Enigma?

Hi and thanks for the replys guys. i know in the gemini image it was a simple fix all i had to do was disable the fast zapping and this fixed the problem straight away maybe this could be implimented in the new build ( if there is going to be one) or just a simple script addon to add this or fix this feature what do you guys think ?

the neutrino clone images ive made have been made using this dreamdriver_dm500_20060803 driver. it hasnt seemed to bad with audio sync, so i havnt bothered trying other drivers. its a later version driver than is used in commando12 though.

To disable fastzap is changing the way you call zapit, I can't remember off the top of my head bit it was something like zapit-c but to be honest I don't remember.

It's all in the dw dream neutrino and can be ripped out easy enough and added to the commando image I just don't have a dm500 to play with. I can give rough instructions from memory if anyone wants them.

Hopefully they will put it all into the next commando image as a standard.
@lraizer 2006 seems old m8.
I will have a look and see if I have any of the old stuff I had here.
I had a clear out when I got the tm800 (wasted my money there )

K guys, let's not all start running around like headless turkeys, padding out images with x number of drivers to select from, plus all the shell menu support etc that would need. I thought we'd left those days behind when we waved a fond farewell to cable dbox2...

Known facts:

All varieties of E1 Enigma have a a menu option of 'Fast Zapping' - with a hint line of "causes known lip-sync issues". So we leave this un-ticked, disabled, OFF.

If Tuxbox and PLi aren't bothering with E1 dev any more, and this option is buggy, why leave it in enigma in the first place??

No similar menu option is to be found in Neutrino. Could this be because Tuxbox enabled Fast Zapping by default? And never bothered to make a menu option to switch it off?

With such a HUGE user base of E1 boxes remaining active, I can't believe these guys have suddenly dropped their dev for these images, in favour of their fancy new HD E2 toys! Finish one job properly, before starting another, fcs!

I bet this turns out to be a simple (un-menued) setting change in neutrino.conf

But the different drivers don't just affect lipsync, remember the H/V issues you and renny had with the latest head.ko and neutrino?
