500s - Is it possible to record/stream HD streams over LAN

Does the 500s box tuner pick up HD signals at all? was wondering if these could then be streamed to a PC which could do the displaying?

Hi m8. Sorry but thats a no as the card inside cant handle H.264 codec. so it cannot decode the signal altho it can decode the audio just not video

the dm card is only dvb-s to decode H.264 it would have to be dvb-s/s2 hope this helps have a great stay and have fun on the forum m8

So if its decoding the audio that means it is picking up the signal - could this then be passed over to a PC to do the decoding? or is there more than that to the tuner?

Would be good if we could just swap out the tuner for a HD one

Hi again m8. Sorry but there is more to it than just the card decoding it as for the audio its very simple for it to decode as its within range of the cards spec as for the video side the card just cant handle the speed that HD comes in at upto 33mb a second as for standard tv its only maybe 6mb a second MAX. Also the dm500s processor cannot handle HD its just not fast enough itself. Hope this helps a little m8.
