Not entirely sure what your problem is, Mags, or what it is you're trying to achieve, m8...

Are you attempting to use a swapfile on a mount? If so, is the mount in place yet, and mounted folder contents viewable via FTP?

Cheers- AL

Yep, I know how to grab the bootloader, Mags. Here's mine, from my DM500S testbox.

The command used to extract it is:

cat /dev/mtd/2 > /tmp/mtd2_bootloader.img

To flash it to your box, unrar it and ftp it to /tmp - then telnet this command:

[ -e /tmp/mtd2_bootloader.img ] && cd /tmp ; eraseall /dev/mtd/2 ; cp mtd2_bootloader.img /dev/mtd/2 ; reboot

WARNINGS

1. First ensure that the small binary eraseall exists in /bin or /sbin - if it doesn't, shout!!

2. Flashing the mtd2 partition is a potential box killer and may involve another jtag session to recover

Cheers- AL

Another thought is to backup your PLi Jade image, then reflash with Commando 14.3

Then see what the Services > Scan menu offers up in the way of DISEqC settings...

That's good, Mags. Yes, we know that screenies don't work in yWeb on dm500, and LraiZer has previously alerted us to the ScreenGrabber tool. We add this in as a BOT when needed, but don't see much sense in including it in a release image as a permanent feature, m8.

Regard it as a dev tool, as you've discovered, LOL!

Got your dish aligned accurately with the Ploar Axis pointing directly at Ursa Major (North Star) yet?

Cheers- AL
