Default FiscStream - Streaming client

Here's a little app I came across that will stream from your Dreambox to your PC. Way better than VLC could ever do. It uses WMP and so far I'm pretty impressed.

See what you think!

Code:

Would be interested to see if it works with a DBox2 as well if anyone could test? ;-)

Nice one, DJ OD! Well, I have dboxes hard-wired back to the PC via a router, and the pc is running XP Pro with WMP.

But I've never tried anything like recording / streaming. I could whack C10d back on and test this, quite happily. Any chance of a quick 1-2-3 for a total noob on this sort of stuff, pls?

Cheers, and thanks for sharing- AL

Edit: Have attached DJ's file proper, saving the megaupload wait, LOL!

It's quite straight forward really mate.

Just d/l, install, fire it up. Let it install codecs.

In address put ip of your dreambox, username = root, password = (whatever), port = 80.

Click connect.

That's about it!

I've tried to get this to work on my dbox2 but alas it just won't work. Also tried running it as administrator but still no joy !! All I get is the '404' error ?

I hope someone smarter than me can get this working with the dbox2 as it will probably solve the no sound issues on non FTA channels.

Seems it only works with Dreamboxes ATM. Maybe someone could try with an Enigma DBox image, maybe that will work better.

I would also try using XP, as Vista can be a shit when it comes to DBoxes apss and the like. Re-partition and Dual boot is the way!

To re-iterate, you don't need to do anything at the STB end.
