Cas Interface 2 – Dream Box Connection

Here comes the Dream Box Jtag connection for Cas Interface 2.
Important: DO NOT CONNECT WIRES LONGER THAN 10 CM!!
How to Program the corrupted bootloader:
1. Connect the Dreambox following the above schematic. Wires must not be longer
than 10 cm!!
2. Lauch the latest software version and choose DreamBox Icon.
3. When the software it's ready to use press Connect button and then choose the
repairing file from your forlder (a good reparing bootloader it's in the folder folder
fw/dreambox/DreamBox_Boot.bin).
4. The programming may take about 15 minutes , you will see a countdown during
programming.
5. If the programming becomes slow it's might be due to the cable's lenght that
must not be more than 10 cm. Try to cut it.
Important: This tool will repair only currupted bootloader.
THE CORRECT WAY

built up the jtag with a parallel port to a 25-pin following the instuctins included in the uploaded file, using 5 100 ohm resistors.
Parallel Port settled on ecp + epp in bios.
Do not use interrupts in Device Manager / parallel port on Xp (sp2).
used the software jtag thie zip file uploaded .
The file blimg in jtagwin folder, it should be replaced with the bootloader one renamed blimg .
The main difficulty is to turn on the write option in the software, namely connect with jtag.
You must try many times, connecting your dreambox power supply while pressing the connect button .
If it doesn't light on, play A LITTLE with the J-tag in and out
By insisting, the button becomes active and you can write flashing bootloader.
At the end, it should be shuted down and then use dreamup to reload the image.
To verify that the parallel port has not stuck, you can take like reference the led , if that is ok, you gonna have a little light.
If it is not turning on during operations, then restart the PC.
