I am a complete novice and at first asked for a lot of help from various forums some were very good and others not so! I find that using the Hallenberg.com image downloader the very best after searching all over for a better method than using a serial cable eTc.
What disappoints me on this site is the "warning" for every body to see Yet the site is full of the information required to do what we want to do with DBOXs eTc'
As to first When I joined it was five posts now I see its ten posts so it seems this site is becoming a bit less helpful as we all have to ask for help some if not all the time so loosen up and help instead of stopping people that at least looks around and then ;as I did ,do find some thing of help to any body I will pass it on
To the admin this could have been said in 4-5 posts but why bother and try to get to your limit!

Hi the 5 post's had been put to 10 due to snatch and grab ppl posting utter rubbish just to obtain an image, it has only just gone to 10 due a total idiot who opened 11 or so accounts and spammed the forum to try his best to get an image and stated what his intentions was "to sell it on ebay" to give us mods and admin a chance to catch him was to up it to 10 posts and i can see your point of view you joined and it was only 5 now its 10, im sure admin will look into that for you...

if you do look around these days there are not many forums that want cable sections threads on there so they have completly removed it all, i hope you can see our point of view as we do see your's and alot has been said about this already...but some forums want more than 10 posts (15-20) before DL is available or approved posts by admin that means sensible posts

If you need help, videoman, just post and ask for it, with as much info on your problem as possible. You'll find that more experienced peeps will be getting trampled in the rush to try and help you, and other noobs who read the thread.

Or, read pleas for help by others- and if you can help them, then do so! This is a caring / sharing site, not a soft target for the leecher brigade- as turner has already said. If you want to play an active role in this board, then 10 sensible and constructive posts can easily be accomplished in under an hour, if you think about it...

But the Mods and Admin are determined to stop these tossers in their tracks!!

A 5 or 10 post limit will not affect you from being able to "ask for help" so I fail to see your point, the limit only affects downloads?

And the download/post has only been lifted as a temp measure. As pointed out above, we had an idiot filling various sections with rubbish which surely will only make it harder for genuine users like yourself to search for the help you need, making the site less helpful?

We could open it up with no limit, a free for all, then everyone joins up, hammers the site, downloads wholesale!

Bandwidth shoots up, who will pay for that when it gets shut down for exceeding badwidth limit? No members are being asked to pay here!!

But you appear genuine looking at your details, so I'll go bung you 5 posts to be helpful.............

in theory , 1 well placed question will get the answers u need and the magic of the modern age that is 'google' will often find any files that you want if not necessarily from this site

you're almost contradicting yourself - the point in these forums are to create communities where people can share information and pass on their idea - getting people to stay around and feel part of these communities is half the battle - hence the download limits. maybe you have something to offer in the way of advice on other subjects

people who come straight in and demand immediate answers or support are disrespecting the many many people who put lots of time in effort to giving the scene the depth of support it has thru the websites, guides, image development, etc.
