Default Can anyone help? Nokia 9500s media master

Hello,
Can anyone help? I purchased a Nokia Media Master 9500s for £10 from a car boot.
The bloke who sold it to me didn't know what it was. So thought give it a try.

Opening the front of the box I see a slot in card about 10mm thick with 2.3 inbedded on the front and when removed says "IRDETO complete pay tv systems" written on the top along with conditional access and a serial number with bar code. It looks like a thick PC card.

There is also a Open Platform Gold card in the card slot that someone has written IRDETO Mumma on. I guess this is a decrypt card.

I am moving home soon and the house I am moving to has a sat dish so would like to give a go.

I already have a DBox2 and have used for last few years so know what I am doing with that, just have not got a clew with this box.

Can anyone help me out on this one. Just need to know what I have to do to get it going.

Thanks in advance.

I have never actually used one, but plug it in and see if it is running different firmware first (DVB2000 is the patched firmware)

The "Thick PC card" is a IRDETO hardware cam.

am I right in thinking that a IRDETO 2.3 card is a WIFI enabled cam card?

Don't think so, it's just a hardware CAM (Conditional Access Module) that takes a Smartcard for the Irdeto system, unless it says wifi on it as some have?

See if the box has dvb2000 firmware on it though.......

How do I tell if it has the dvb2000 firmware?
when i power up the box i get "B2.00UnS" very quickly then "2306fff" then "No2.234". I have only powered up with no dish connected so after the above it then shows xx.xx on the display. I take it i get that because there is no connection.

As I say, I have never used one of these boxes, only heard about them.

Best to google "DVB2000" and "Dr Overflow"

Have a look at this

http://www.xs4all.nl/~dicks/mmpatches/index.html

And this

http://www.no-access.de/en/

Maybe yours hasn't been patched, but interested to hear how you get on with this box if you can feedback?
