If cable dies....

OR SHOULD I SAY WHEN? (maybe i should be more positive lol..) anyway..

Just that - im currently using the cable nokia dbox2..

and no dubt most of us (unless we want to pay extra for the enhanced subs) will be moving to satalite?

However - i am sure that the newbies to cable, who only learned cable, will be totally newbies to satalite (ME)..

1) Will you guys be turning to satalite?
2) Will you guys be helping out OR switching to satalite?
/ If not already done so that is..
3) Is it worth getting the dbox sat version over others?
/ as im a loyal user to the dbox schene they kick all the other boxes arses (on cable) not sure about satalite..
4) If i do switch to the satalite - would it be worth going for the HD boxes?
/ if so do the dbox have a HD version of the box's?

1) neutrino and enigma are cable or sat platforms
2) we always help out but remember our help never includes obtianing free pay tv.
3) get a dreambox 500s and a 80cm dish with a disq moter or if your flush look for a hd box

4) reports from other devs using hd sat set ups are they rock and hd is the best

but please remember you wont find any card sharing info or will you ever find it on this site ..........................

2) i understand this site is FTA only FOREVER (Y)
3) from what ive read Dreambox 500s will use Nokia DBOX images? (right/wrong?)
4) i think the HD is the way to do then !

and towards the card sharing bit-

please don't say the satalite box's use card sharing? (i thought it worked just like the cable / done once, goes off once in a while, fix it easy enough - well , you get the idea)

5) would this site begin to help the sat users though? - rather than concentrating on dead cable (untill fix)

i understand that the site also has a sat section but ive never really concentrated on it as i dont know anything about it.. just want to know what looking hot for the future after everything happens thats all bud

dreambox make a few HD boxes that have changeable tuners, but they are not cheap.
nor are the following
SS has a coolstream sat box NOT Changeable tuners approx £250
Renwich has a AZbox premium (Sat) HD Changeable tuners approx £300

[Satsearching]

1) The Team Commando guys are very keen to do a Satellite image, but finding a Dbox2 satellite user to test beta images is proving very hard. The Commando devs don't have every box type at their disposal!

2) Yes, this site is FTA

3) No, Dbox2 images will not directly run on a DM500 but it aint that hard to compile them to run on a DM500. Again, getting testers aint easy, devs don't have every box type at their disposal! But there are already DM500 images available on here based on Commando and Gay SS-Enigma. If more testers showed up, then maybe images could be made for Cable, Satellite and Terrestial. I have to emphasise though that getting testers IS the big problem, lots say they will but then ignore actual test images and PM's

4) Yup, we are hoping to see dev work here for HD boxes, some here are keen to dev UK images for Azbox and Coolstream, but waiting till the base source goes public proper.......

5) Hell yea, most of us are Satellite users anyway, maybe we should look at expanding the Satellite section..?

Remember though, we are FTA, CS is a no no here.
