ok guys im gonna do my first attempt to install a motorised sat dish
when the wind has dropped, just a couple of questions which type of anchor bolt should i use a rawlbolt type,or a sleeve type, the t&k brackets are going on the wall at back which has render on with stone chips on then you got the brick would the sleeve anchor do for this,or will i need the rawl bolt type, would i have to chip away around the brackets to expose the brickwork, then put either the sleeve type or rawl type bolt in or just leave the render alone and drill thru into the brick also hopefully im gonna have the dish above the guttering, how for above the gutterin should roughly the end of the pole be about 1.5mtrs ???? dish is 1mtr,the pole 10' |

It really depends on your wall ,,if you have hallow bricks it is better using the raw plug type anchor,, the sleave anchor is the same thing and more simple to use as you drill the hole size you need straight through the bracket and just put the bolt through the bracket and hammer in ,,the raw plug type is usually to big a hole needing drilled which would mean marking your holes out on the wall then applying the bolts in the wall then putting the bracket over your drilled holes and hoping they all line up ,,, so if I were you get yourself 10mm x 120 sleaveanchors,,make sure you have 12mm holes drilled in you bracket,,just hold bracket were you want it drill throught the bracket with 10mm sds drill bit and then hammer in bolt after fist bolt is in just plumb and level bracket and drill through opposite hole you already have drilled ,etc till all bolts have been drilled hope I have helped ya abit dont bother taken of and stones of your wall as if ya ever want to move the sat dish you wont have an eye sore to look at ,,lol

Personally, I would go for M10 Rawlbolts accurately marked out on the render and then hammer-drilled with a 16mm dia SDS masonry bit to a depth of about 100mm.
But take the drill off hammer for the first stage of drilling, while you penetrate the concrete render, else a big fook-off dinner plate-sized area of render might come away... 12mm holes in the bracket to give you a bit of alignment leeway, then tighten the whole lot up with a 13mm socket. Rock solid - you'd be able to hang a bus from it. Oh, and do please have somebody footing your ladder while you're up it... Cheers- AL

Personally I would do as Al says mate particularly the bit regarding the hammer action when drilling the render
