Hi
I have been using the Openbox HD S9 now for just over two months - has taken a while to get used to - but for £100 brand new I dont think you will find a cheaper HD Sat box. Good for you to use in a spare/second/bedroom. You will find the firmware with active channel list (which dont loop) in the follwing link: rapidshare.com/files/447197266/HDS2_DUMP.abs The following is a 'how to' that I followed to get my box up and running: Transfer the file onto a usb stick insert into back of the box click on menu and goto the tools menu again, scroll down to upgrade by USB and click start, after the loading is complete, accept the upgrade. To add the line to get the box 'working' transfer the Cccam.cfg file to usb stick and place into back of the box Now goto Menu -> Network Local Settings and select CCcam Plug Setting and click the OK button. Now select Update Files by USB and click the OK button. Now select CCcam, cfg [CCcam Plug] and click the OK button, you should then see a check mark or tick appear, indicating you have selected the file, if there is no tick shown, then you have not selected anything, and nothing will be installed. If there is no tick displayed, select CCcam, cfg [CCcam Plug] and click the OK button. Once the tick is displayed, click the Yellow button. Now select CCcam Plug Setting and click the OK button. Now select option 1 .. CCcam.cfg and click the OK button. Now highlight each cline you wish to activate, by clicking the OK button, a tick will appear next to each cline you have activated. Finally check your Network Settings are configured correctly. If your router supports DHCP turn it ON and click Apply. If your router do not support DHCP you will be required to set it up manually, click Apply once you have set it up correctly. Now reboot your receiver and that should be JOB DONE! |

when did u get the box?
I had issues yesterday setting one of these boxes up at my brothers over the weekend. The box wouldn't connect to the router - in the end after about 2 hours I reset (not reboot) his router and and connected and it worked straight away. I then set his security settings back up on the router - and happy to say all is working fine! |

I have bought in total 4 of these boxes all from maxsat.co.uk - never had an issue with delivery or with the boxes themselves - they are currently selling them for £79.99.
Use the firmware available in the link i posted in the first post and follow instructions - so long as u source a good cline there should be no issues with glitching. I can confirm that on the four boxes I have set up I get next to no glitching - watched all the footy on Sunday just gone and the cricket all day for the last week - not one glitch. |

bringing up an old post ...
Is the Openbox S10 any good? 1st my Mums Nokia died (Tuner) and now her D500 as well .. I am looking to replace the setup and like the HD capability and the USB HDD. I read it's Now and Next EPG only, is this for UK Sky only or for normal Standard DVB as well (19.2 Astra). Can you sort the Channels via an external Editor? THX PT-1 |

hope this helps. P.S. i just found the channel editor. here are the instructions on how to use. Channel editor Openbox S9 Downloaded the PVR_800 editor. (see below) Dump the channels: Tools > Dump by USB > Dump Mode: Misc Files > Select and Dump > TP_PROG.dbs > Add > Dump Before edit you must rename the TP_PROG.dbs extension to TP_PROG.abs and after edit rename back to TP_PROG.dbs. Upgrading the edited channels method is similar to the Dump method: Tools > Upgrade by USB > Upgrade Mode: Misc Files > Select and Upgrade > TP_PROG.dbs > Add > Upgrade Last edited by brandan; 13-08-2011 at 03:18 PM.. |
