I cant comment on HTC phones however i did have an iPhone and hated it. It spent more time being fixed or replaced by apple than actually being used.

Like with any product, there will always be a few handful which should never have passed QA. Perhaps your iPhone was one of those.

The iPhone most certainly has its flaws, there's no denying that. Also, there are a lot of features which should have been available from day 1 (rather than on the firmware 3.0 !).

Having said all this, there's not 1 touch screen phone in the market which holds a candle to the iPhone in terms of ease of use, intuitiveness, support, availability of applications, etc.

I do hope your iPhone gets fixed soon enough. All the best. If there's any particular questions that you've got on your mind, don't hesitate to raise them in the relative section. I'll try to get an answer across to you at the earliest.

I've got a HTC Hero, which runs android and i have to say i am well impressed with it, and so are my friend who have iphones, i think i've converted a few of them from the evil that is apple.

I can't understand why people pay for their phones on contract its crazy, if people stopped paying and went for android devices they'd be forced to price there stuff like normal phone companies.

the other day i purchased a HTC Hero, on the O2 Network for £10 ! (no this isnt a joke!)

it came with a charger & phone only, and had a lock on the screen with some kind of "Dot-to-Dot" lock thing.

i did a quick search online & removed the lock screen with the following:

1) Turn Phone off.
2) Hold "Home" & "Power" button untill a "! & Triangle" appears.
3) Press Menu - Then select the option necessary.

It quickly unlocked the pattern screen & wiped the phone clean.

Now i have a 16gb White iPhone 3G & HTC Hero !!

Now the main reason i post..

Which to keep?

I really love my iphone (cost me £250 from ebay, in really good condition)

However, the HTC hero for a £10..

Usability: I use my iphone for the tomtom software mostly, and to show off some of the features for when in bored (traffic, lectures, boredem!)

What about the HTC?

Breakability: If i break the iphone ill be gutted ive lost £250.... but if i break the HTC Hero.. £10 isnt breaking the bank...

Apps: My iphone is unlocked, enjoying all the free apps - even though most of them never get used, just there for fun really..

What about the HTC?

Can the HTC be unlocked?
Whats the apps like?
Anything compared to iphone? etc etc...

hope someone can help!

I have an iPhone 3G and a HTC Magic.

HTC Magic is not a bad phone, the Android apps aren't too bad and the camera is slightly better than the iPhone's, but the HTC can be a bit sluggish when compared to the iPhone and the apps and the build quality of the iPhone are far superior in my opinion.

Default HTC Hero
Just been looking at this thread and thought i'd put my twopenneth in. i've got a HTC Hero and can't say a bad thing about it. it's design might not be to everyone's taste but i quite like it. as far as available apps go there's plenty to go at and these just seem to multiply daily. my brother has an iphone 4 and i can honestly say that i'd stick with my hero if he offered to swap.

I'm currently trialing a HTC Trophy 7, windows mobile 7, I must admit its a cracking phone, MS have put a lot into getting the user experience right, but I'm underwhelmed by it, there's nothing that makes it stand out from the crowd, I'm sure MS will improve it, it's a good solid base to build on,

Never tried an Android HTC device, but am tempted with the Samgsung Galaxy Tab
